Charlie Sheen takes on new role in “Anger Management”
Charlie Sheen is back. He will be starring in a new television show based off the 2003 Adam Sandler-Jack Nicholson film, “Anger Management,” a role for which he seems well prepared.
The actor made a statement regarding his new sitcom saying, “I chose ‘Anger Management’ because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept,” reports CNN. We’re all glad he’s broadening his horizons.
The news release also announced that Sheen will not just be starring in the show, he will also “retain a significant ownership stake in the series.”
Sheen’s actions, including drug use, run-ins with the law and violent rants, might concern some producers, but the show’s executives prefer to focus on the positives. “It’s not every day you can roll out a sitcom featuring the star of the biggest TV comedy of the past decade,” said the presidents of the distributing company Debmar-Mercury.
