Andy Rooney in serious condition following surgery
Andy Rooney is reportedly in stable condition after being hospitalized.
Fox News reports that Rooney, 92, was hospitalized on Tuesday after developing serious complications following surgery. At the request of Rooney’s family, no other information about his health, the hospital he is in or his medical conditions has been made public.
As we reported a few weeks ago, Rooney retired from his position as long-running commentator on CBS’ “60 Minutes” during his 1,097th essay.
During his final essay, Rooney said, “I wish I could do this forever. I can’t, though,” adding if any viewers were to spot him in a restaurant, “please, just let me eat my dinner.”
Rooney joined “60 Minutes” in 1978.
