Clippers reportedly close to trading for Chris Paul
Chris Paul and Clippers fans, prepare yourselves. The Clippers are reportedly close to trading for Paul.
USA Today reports that Paul, currently a point guard for the New Orleans Hornets, was originally involved in a three-tream trade that also involved Lamar Odom and was vetoed by the NBA.
Paul is slated to become a free agent after 2011-12, and will make $16.3 million this season.
As part of the Chris Paul trade, the Hornets would receive center Chris Kaman (12.4 ppg, 7.0 rpg), point guard Eric Bledsoe (6.7 ppg, 3.6 apg, 1.1 spg), small forward Al-Farouq Aminu (5.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg) and the Clippers’ unprotected 2012 draft pick via the Minnesota Timberwolves.
As USA Today reports, the addition of Paul would give the Clippers four proven scorers in the starting lineup.
