Hostess looks to restructure
Look out, Hostess lovers. The company has filed for bankruptcy protection.
The Chicago Tribune reports that this is not the first time Hostess has run into financial troubles. The company filed for bankruptcy protection last decade.
Newsday reports that Hostess blames its financial troubles on its pension and medical benefits obligations, increased competition and touch economic conditions. But Hostess says it looks to restructure into a “strong, competitive” company.
Hostess is known as the producer of Ho Hos, Ding Dongs and Twinkies, among other sweet treats.
