Don’t call it a comeback
Lindsay Lohan may be back in the spotlight, and this time for something other than her trips to court. Lindsay Lohan has landed a gig playing Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming television movie, and will be hosting “Saturday Night Live” on March 3.
Lindsay Lohan will play Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime made-for-TV film about the late actress called, “Liz and Dick”. The biopic will focus on Elizabeth Taylor’s two turbulent marriages to Richard Burton. However, due to Lindsay’s run-ins with the law over the past several years, the actress has been handed a legal caveat.
If Lindsay Lohan obeys the judge’s orders relating to her 2007 conviction for driving under the influence, she will be allowed to play the part of Elizabeth Taylor in the movie.
Like her predecessor Elizabeth, Lindsay Lohan has had a turbulent life herself. In the past five years Lindsay Lohan has had brief stints in jail, numerous court appearances for various offenses, and trips to rehab for drug and alcohol abuse.
Lindsay Lohan was last seen on the big screen in “Machete” in 2010 and on the small screen in the 2009 TV movie “Labor Pains.”
On March 3, Lindsay Lohan will return to “Saturday Night Live” for the first time since 2006. It will be her fourth time hosting the show, and she’ll be taking the stage with musical guest Jack White.
While Lindsay Lohan has had trouble landing movie roles in the past few years, fans and critics began to talk about a possible comeback when Lindsay Lohan made headlines for appearing in Playboy magazine in December.
In the issue, Lindsay Lohan, who is only 25-years-old, talked about the trouble she has been in over the past few years, and about growing up.
“Looking back, I probably would have listened to and taken more advice from the people whom I admire and would have followed through with it more,” she said, ” My stubbornness at 18 and 19 years old got in the way. During the past five years, I’ve learned that time flies faster than you think, and because you only live once, you have to learn from your mistakes, live your dreams and be accountable.”
Lindsay Lohan may be making a comeback, but it is not without some lost roles. Lindsay talked extensively last year about her desire to play Linda Lovelace, former porn star turned anti-pornography activist, in an upcoming biopic. However Lindsay Lohan was passed up for the role, which went to her “Mean Girls” co-star Amanda Seyfried.
With a movie role and “SNL” hosting gig in the works, Lindsay Lohan may be able to parley her way back onto the Hollywood A-list. That is, if she can keep her nose clean.
