Apple announces its new iPhone 5 today
The iPhone 5 release date event is scheduled to take place Wednesday, September 12 at 1 p.m. EST. The event is expected to reveal the brand new version of Apple’s iPhone and its new iOS 6 operating system.
The iPhone 5 event will be held in California, Apple’s company headquarters, and along with news of the highly anticipated iPhone 5 comes many sites coverage of the big event.
Given the increasing hype surrounding Apple’s newest product release, the company does not expect to take pre-orders just yet, however, company executives expect to see the iPhone5’s pre-orders exceed those the iPhone 4S experienced in October 2011.
Among the new features of the iPhone 5 are a new dock connector, redesigned earphones, a new Nano-SIM slot as well as 4G LTE connectivity. The new version is also the lightest and thinnest iPhone ever, complete with a new 4-inch Retina display, and Apple-designed A6 chip for speedy performance, blazing quick wireless technology and even enhanced battery life. Oh yes, Siri is getting a slight makeover with more features and language compatibility.
Apple is expected to reveal the iPhone 5’s release date during their event today, just in time for upcoming holiday season.
