It appears that TLC’s hit reality TV show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has come to an end in light of recent reports that “Mama June” Shannon is dating a convicted child molester.
The show which is a spinoff of Toddlers and Tiaras follows the famous pageant star, Alana Thompson, better known as Honey Boo Boo and her family that first aired back in Aug. 2012.
TMZ was the first to break the story accommodated with a photo of Shannon and McDaniel, the convicted child molester who was apparently convicted of molesting an 8-year-old related to Shannon’s very own family in 2004 and was recently released.
Despite the confirmed cancellation of the hit reality TV show, Mama June insists the reports are false. She posted a video to Honey Boo Boo’s Facebook page informing fans about the cancellation and to deny reports that she is dating an alleged sex offender, stating that her daughters are her number one priority.
As a result of the reports, TLC decided to pull the plug on the show and released a statement stating that the well-being of the children is their top priority.
“TLC has canceled the series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately,” the network announced on Friday. “Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being.”
