Former Steel Magnolia singer, Meghan Linsey decided to embark on a solo career after country duo, Steel Magnolia parted ways.
Linsey parted ways with singing partner/ex-finace Joshua Scott Jones after he was admitted to a rehabilitation facility to treat drug and alcohol abuse which eventually led to the duo separating both personally and professionally.
Since their split, the two have embarked on solo careers and Linsey recently auditioned for NBC’s The Voice, getting three of the four judges to turn their chairs with her performance of “Love Hurts,” a Nazareth hit.
Judges Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Pharrell all spun their chairs around for the powerhouse vocalist that graced the stage during blind auditions that aired on Feb. 23. while Blake Shelton kept his back turned on his former tourmate.
Levine attacked Shelton for keeping not turning his chair for the songstress he once toured with back when Linsey made up half of Steel Magnolia.
“Now I bet you feel extra bad, huh?” Levine told Shelton.
Despite being begged by both Levine and Aguilera to join either of their teams, Linsey chose Pharrell as her mentor this season.
Steel Magnolia first caught a break when they won their season on CMT’s reality show, Can You Duet? The two went on to release their self-titled album in 2011 before splitting just months later.
It will be interesting to see how Linsey performs throughout the rest of the season with Pharrell as her mentor and an already impressive musical track record behind her.
