After her recent absence from social media, Azalea’s reps have confirmed tour postponement.
Amidst rumors that Iggy Azalea was refusing to work with management and engage in promotion for The Great Escape tour, it was announced on March 10 that the tour has been postponed.
Azalea who has been absent from social media in recent weeks made no comment about the rumors, but her management took over her Twitter to share the news with a tweet that read: “Iggz HQ: The tour getting pushed back only means that it’ll be way more amazing than it would’ve been in April. Good things take time.”
Opening acts Nick Jonas and Tinashe have both dropped from the tour, likely due to scheduling conflicts. Replacements for the tour have not yet been announced.
The tour which was slated to kick off on April 14 in Fresno has been postponed to this fall with the first show date kicking off on Sept. 18 in San Diego.
According to her label, Def Jam Records, the tour postponement comes as a result of “tour production delays.”
“To accommodate for creative team availability and tour production plans, it was determined that the tour will not be ready this Spring. It is extremely important to Iggy that she delivers the show she envisaged to share with her fans and that requires more time in development,” Def Jam noted in a recent statement.
Tickets for the originally scheduled tour dates will be honored on their city’s rescheduled fall date.
