The Academy Awards nominations have just been announced
The 89th annual awards, which will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel live on ABC on February 26 2017, has just announced this year’s Oscar nominations.
The sensational “La La Land,” which won a record-setting seven awards at the golden globes earlier this year, has just garnered 14 Oscar nominations, tying with the likes of “Titanic” for the most Oscar nominations for any movie till date. The nominations for the film include best director, best actor and best song.
As was expected, emotional heavy-hitter “Moonlight” did exceptionally well, leaving with eight nominations, second behind “La La Land”. Nominations include best director and best supporting actor.
Perhaps surprising considering its huge box office success, anti-Hollywood hit “Deadpool” left with no nominations for this year’s Academy Awards.
