Amish breakaway group cut the beards of other Amish
The FBI has arrested seven members of a breakaway Amish group in Ohio in connection with committing hates crimes against other Amish.
AP reports that the breakaway group forcefully cut the beards and hair of several Amish men and women in recent months. Cutting one’s hair is highly offensive to the Amish. They believe the Bible instructs that Amish women are to grow their hair long and men are to grow beards once they marry.
Among those arrested on Wednesday in connection with the crimes are the breakaway Amish group’s leader and three of his sons.
