True Blood costars expecting their first child together
Anna Paquin is expecting a child with her True Blood costar and husband Stephen Moyer. The baby will be Paquin’s first, although Moyer has two children, 12-year-old Billy and 10-yea-old Lilac from previous relationships.
Anna Paquin, 29, and Moyer, 42, first met in 2007 when they began filming the show. They married in Malibu, CA three years later. Many of their “True Blood” cast and crew pals showed up to the celebration, including their script supervisor, an ordained minister, who performed the ceremony.
In 2010, Anna Paquin revealed to Marie Claire that she wanted to put off having kids with her then-fiance. “I have trouble planning anything more than brunch with my friends,” Paquin told the magazine. “But when the time’s right, we’ll do it.”
The same year she got married, Anna Paquin came out publicly as bisexual. “Frankly, no one had ever asked me before… There is a lot of prejudice against us, but the more people talk about it, the less of a deal it will be,” Paquin told V Magazine last year. “Who people choose to sleep with — or spend their lives with — shouldn’t matter, not that anyone particularly cares who I’m attracted to.”
Paquin won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1993 at the age of 11 for The Piano. Her career took off later in the 90s thanks to her roles in She’s All That, Almost Famous and the X-Men Franchise.
She won the 2008 Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama for her role as the Southern waitress Sookie Stackhouse in the HBO series True Blood. Filming for Season 5 of True Blood began in November and it will premier June 10.
