Fun-filled party held at bookstore
Anne Hathaway will not walk down the aisle to Adam Shulman until October 2013, but the couple celebrated their engagement with a party in February.
The party was held in a New York City bookstore where Anne Hathaway served vegan fare and decorated with bird-shaped vases filled with ranunculus and anemones, her favorite flowers. “Everything so was fun, just like Annie,” a friend told Us Weekly.
The actress’ wedding will most likely be just as fun and eccentric. She reportedly told one friend she wants cupcakes while another pal reveals she has selected a venue in upstate New York: “But they’re keeping it a secret until right before!”
Anne Hathaway began dating Shulman, 31, in November of 2008, and the two dated for three years before he proposed with a six-carat, $150,000 ring from Kwiat.
The two began dating after Anne ended her four-year relationship with Raffaello Follieri, when he was charged and found guilty of 14 counts of money laundering, conspiracy and wire fraud.
“I am very much in love with him, Adam totally ruined my plan,” Anne Hathaway has said of her fiancé. “I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool! We hit it off immediately, but it took us a pretty long time to get together.”
2013 will be an eventful year for Anne Hathaway, as Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland is slated to be released that year. Hathaway will be playing Garland. The film is based on a 2000 book by Gerald Clarke and details Garland’s battles with drug and alcohol, suicide attempts and relationships. The actress was married five times and had three children, including Broadway star Liza Minnelli. Garland died at age 47 of a prescription drug overdose in 1969.
