This tragedy upon losing Game 5 of the finals
Chris Bosh has more than Game 6 to worry about this Thursday;, apparently, Bosh’s masseuse collapsed in the forward’s South Florida home and later died in the hospital.
According to ESPN, the woman appeared to be fine up until she collapsed. Fire rescue workers responded and transported the woman to a nearby hospital. The identity of the Bosh’s masseuse remains unknown.
Bosh’s wife, Adrienne, released in a statement, “Last evening, a massage therapist that we have used for some time, arrived at our home to provide massage therapy. Shortly after she arrived, she fainted and lost consciousness. We called 911 and emergency personnel arrived at our home shortly thereafter. They took her to Mount Sinai Hospital where she passed away. Our hearts go out to her family. We are very sorry for their loss.”
Vivan Hernandez, Miami Beach police spokesperson says the department is going to conduct its standard death investigation; though, there are no immediate signs of foul play.
When Bosh was asked about the incident following the Game 5 loss, Bosh seemed very distraught over the matter, “It was good just to be able to do what I love…I was happy just to do that. With everything going on, life happens.”
Heat’s coach Erik Spolestra said Tuesday night, “It’s an absolute tragedy. It really is…We’re learning all the full details right now, so it would be probably inappropriate for me to comment any further about it.” As for Bosh, Spolestra stated Bosh was “focused” and with the team for game day shoot around in the morning.
Bosh was just coming back from an abdominal injury that had him sidelined for a majority of the postseason; Game 5 was his comeback. The Heat lost to Celtics 94-90 on Tuesday. Thursday will be the next gam if the Heat doesn’t win they are out for the postseason.
