The Dancing with the Stars all-star cast was announced Thursday
The wait is over. The Dancing with the Stars all-star cast was finally announced on Thursday. The ABC hit show called back some of the dancing favorites from past seasons. Some will be pairing up with their old partners and get another chance at Dancing with the Star’s infamous mirror ball trophy.
These couples include:
Season 3 winner Emmett Smith & Cheryl Burke
Season 4 runner-up Joey Fatone & Kym Johnson
Season 8 finalist Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani
Season 11 finalist Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas
Season 12 runner-up Kirstie Alley & Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Other stars to appear on Dancing with the Stars include Gilles Marini, Drew Lachey, Kelly Monaco, Apolo Anton Ohno, Helio Castroneves, Shawn Johnson and of course Pamela Anderson. They will all be taking on new partners this season in their dancing quest for the trophy.
There is one final spot left on Dancing with the Stars for a 13th all-star contestant. However, this decision is being left up to the fans. Kyle Massey, Sabrina Bryan and Carson Kressley are all battling for the final spot to round out the all-star cast.
According to executive producer Conrad Green, partners were chosen based on “who we think will make the most intriguing partners and the most intriguing season.”
The winner will be chosen August 27 on Good Morning America.
Dancing with the Stars returns for its all-star season on Monday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET.
