Racecar driver and sex symbol hits wall in Daytona
Danica Patrick hit the wall during her last lap of the Daytona 500 qualifying race. Patrick was sitting in the top 10 when Aric Almirola, No. 43, forced her No. 10 car into a spin and ultimately careening into the safety barrier.
While the crash was violent, Danica Patrick walked away unharmed and joked about the incident later, saying perhaps the incident will be a “blessing in big disguise.” She was referring to the fact that her backup car may be faster than the one she normally uses.
“It happened really quick,” Patrick said. “When it gets down to the end of the race, everybody’s on each other’s doors really close. That’s what happens. Unfortunately, I was part of it,” reports USA Today.
Patrick is scheduled to race in the 10 Sprint Cup Series for Steward-Haas Racing.
