Hot 97 radio decides to part ways
Radio DJ Mr. Cee, the host of New York’s Hot 97, quit his job on Wednesday after damaging video revealed his interaction with drag queens and transsexuals.
The DJ admitted on tape to soliciting sex from other men. Mr. Cee resigned his position amid the growing controversy and legal allegations. He was retained by police in May and stood trial for charges of solicitation. Mr. Cee was allegedly caught in a sting operation by New York police attempting to prostitute himself to a male officer.
A video from a year ago emerged, in which Mr. Cee is conversing with a drag queen, whereby he stated, “have I lied about getting sexual falatio in a car with a transsexual? Yes, I have lied about that and I feel bad for the listeners that it did take a video for me to say this because I have been in denial about this for a very long time.”
Mr. Cee and Hot 97 decided to part ways in a statement made by the radio station. “Due to some personal circumstances that have become public, after 20 years of service, Mr. Cee has chosen to resign.”
Mr. Cee does not consider himself gay, but does admit to dealing with issues of sexuality in his past.
Sources claim Mr. Cee has been asked to return to his position at Hot 97 radio, but details are, as of yet, unconfirmed.
