Ed Sheeran shared some news about his latest collaboration with Billboard before the MTV Video Music Awards this past weekend before taking the stage to accept the honor for Best Male Video for his single, “Sing.”
The U.K. singer-songwriter has had a remarkable year with his award-winning Top 20 single produced by none other than Pharrell Williams and the recent release of his sophomore studio album, X which debuted on the Billboard 200 chart back in June.
His latest collaboration has been with producer/DJ, David Guetta whom he wrote two songs with.
“Two days ago, I wrote and recorded two songs with David Guetta, for some other people to sing,” Sheeran told Billboard’s Keith Caulfield. “I’m going in tomorrow to do some stuff for myself.”
Sheeran is currently on his first-ever headlining arena tour of North America promoting his latest album but uses down time to write.
“This is the only time I can write — when you’re promoting, there’s no time at all,” says Sheeran.
He recently released an EP for his new single “Don’t” that includes a remix featuring Rick Ross.”
