“G.I. Joe: Retaliation” aims to surpass its predecessor
The trailer for “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” has debuted and is promising to surpass its predecessor.
With director Jon Chu at the helm, “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” is taking a grittier, more militarisitc approach than it’s predecessor. It’s also making some crucial cast changes. Bruce Willis, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Ray Stevenson will be replacing the likes of Marlon Wayans, Dennis Quaid and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, though Ray Park and Channing Tatum will be reprising their roles.
“G.I. Joe: Retaliation: will also pick up where “Rise of Cobra” left off, though Joseph Gordon-Levitt will not be reprising his role of Cobra Commander. As Screen Rant details, “Cobra Commander is now the masked leader of the terrorist organization, and his crony, master of disguise Zartan (Arnold Vosloo), has infiltrated the highest echelon of the U.S. government, posing as the president. With Cobra pulling the strings of power, and still running lawless throughout the globe, a new Joe force is tasked with saving the day.”
“G.I. Joe: Retaliation” will premiere June 29, 2012.
