Olivier Martinez announces the two are engaged, despite her vow to never marry again
Halle Berry may have sworn off marriage in the past, but that was before she fell in love with a hot Frenchman.
Halle Berry is engaged to marry French actor Olivier Martinez, and he confirmed it this weekend.
“Yes, of course it’s true,” Olivier Martinez told Miami.com while promoting his new South Beach restaurant, Villa Azur.
To make the engagement official, Halle Berry is wearing an elaborate emerald ring, and it’s something straight out of The Da Vinci Code.
Jeweler Robert Mazlo of Paris designed the ring Olivier Martinez gave to Halle Berry. The ring evidently “symbolizes the couple’s story.”
“The ring is textured and contains codes and symbols which you cannot see. Only the person wearing it can. It’s very uncommon. The symbols and codes represent their story and only they can interpret it,” Mazlo told Us Weekly.
Another jeweler reportedly took credit for the ring, but Olivier Martinez shot down that rumor. Who other than the real jeweler could make up something like codes and symbols?
Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez have not announced any plans about their nuptials.
Halle Berry said in the past, “I have done it twice and I am not going to do it again. The traditional form of marriage is not for me.”
Olivier Martinez must have something the others didn’t to turn Halle Berry back into the “marrying kind.”
