Hope Solo marries Jerramy Stevens just one day after Stevens was accused of assault
Hope Solo married former Seahawks tight end, Jerramy Stevens, just one day after he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his bride-to-be. Because nothing screams “let’s get married” more than physical assault. Stevens was arrested for fourth-degree domestic violence assault early Monday, but he was not charged and was later released.
Although the case is still under investigation, the two decided to get married after just two months of dating. Apparently the pair was arguing over whether to live in Florida or Washington State after getting married.
There was alcohol involved, and the fight escalated to the point where Solo’s brother called the police. Officials found Stevens lying on the ground in his room and Solo had blood on her elbow.
This isn’t Steven’s first run-in with the law, however. He seems to have a long history of arrests. The ex-athlete has had a DUI, a hit-and-run, reckless driving, assault, and an accusation of rape that was never charged, but resulted in Stevens paying $300,000 in a civil suit.
With Hope Solo being one of the most recognizable and marketable female atheletes in the country, many are disappointed in her decision to marry Stevens. Twitter has been buzzing with negative reactions about the wedding news with many worried this will send the wrong message to Solo’s young, female supporters.
One Twitter user posted “It’s sad that anybody married Jerramy Stevens, much less someone who has as much influence with young women as Hope Solo does.”
Stevens could later be charged if police discover more evidence.
