People reports that Farentino died of heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Hospital on Tuesday after a lengthy illness.
Farentino was a TV staple, appearing in such series as “Dynasty,” “Melrose Place,” “The Bold Ones: The Lawyers” and “ER,” and even taking on the role of Saint Peter in the mini-series “Jesus of Nazareth.” He was also a stage performer, appearing in “A Streetcar Named Desire” and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.”
