Kaela Humphries is stepping out of her little brother’s shadow. The older sister of Kim Kardashian’s ex Kris Humphries has signed a plus-size modeling contract with the prestigious agency Ford Models.

This isn’t her first experience with modeling; Kaela Humphries was previously signed with Wilhemina Models and made her debut on the catwalk in a Richie Rich show during New York Fashion Week last fall.

“Kaela is branching out with a new career as a plus-size mannequin,” Ford Models said in a recently statement posted on its website. Notoriety aside, we have high hopes for the blue-eyed beauty and are eager to witness the success her modeling brings.”

“The division that brought you Crystal Renn, Ashley Graham, Candice Huffine and Marquita Pring among others is excited at the prospect of bringing this beautiful, engaging young woman to markets worldwide,” the agency said in a press release. “A true size 16-18, Kaela will be in a league of her own.”

Gary Dakin, head of the agency’s plus-size division, Ford+, toldFashionista.com, adding that she “is going to be a fantastic asset to Ford.”

The Minnesota native expressed her excitement on Twitter. “So excited to be working with the team @fordmodels! This is going to be a great 2012! Stay tuned:),” Kaela Humphries posted.

Her brother Kris also tweeted his enthusiasm. “Congrats to my sister @Kaelahumphries for officially signing with Ford!”

In an interview with networktalent.com, Kaela Humphries said that she hopes to once day own her own clothing line “that centers around making women with curves look sexy and fashion-forward at the same time.” “I want girls and women to feel confident in their own skin and with their own image,” she said. “True beauty comes from within. I want people to believe that no dream is too big!”
