Couric’s new show, “Katie” will premiere Sept. 10
Katie Couric’s talk show, Katie, premieres Monday, Sept. 10 after months of planning and buzz. Couric is all ready according to an interview with Good Morning America, and her first show will feature two impressive guests.
The new Katie Couric talk show will feature two female icons, Jessica Simpson and Sheryl Crow, during its kick off Monday. The theme for the first month of the show will be “A New Beginning”, and Katie will feature women who are reinventing themselves, according to katiecouric.com. These women will be making significant transitions in their lives.
Simpson, who delivered her first child in May, will appear on Katie to talk about her own new beginnings as a new mom, and the pressure she has faced to lose the baby weight quickly. Another mom, Sheryl Crow, will discuss single motherhood and the new roads she plans to embark on for her career and her newly-diagnosed brain tumor. Crow also wrote and performed the song This Day for the Kate Couric talk show to use as its theme song.
In addition, viewers can also expect to see other celebrity appearances such as Barbara Streisand, Chelsea Handler, E L James, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato, Susan Sarandon, Sofia Vergara and Wendy Williams. All appearances will be seen on the Katie Couric talk show within the first three weeks, according to Couric’s website.
Katie Couric is an award-winning journalist and author, known for her career as co-anchor of the Today Show, anchor of CBS Evening News with Katie Couric and special correspondent for several ABC Productions since 2011. Katie will be her first, very own daytime talk show.
