Lady Gaga’s former Lower East Side digs up for grabs
According to US Weekly, the New York Realtor Citi Habitats has listed Lady Gaga’s old one-bedroom apartment for rent, and plugs it as “the place where Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta got her start in the NYC music scene.”
Located at 176 Stanton Street, the Lower East Side apartment is in the middle of the city’s hottest clubs and bars, and is available to rent for $1,850 per month.
Lady Gaga admits that the New York music scene shaped her, and that living alone was crucial to her developing as an artist. “I wanted to live alone — live in solitude with my music,” Gaga said. “I wanted to read poetry and be overly dramatic about everything and that’s what I did.”
When Gaga lived in the neighborhood, she paid $1,100 for the unit with help from her father.
