Paul Maurice replacement to be named later today
Paul Maurice has been dumped by the Carolina Hurricanes.
News Observer reports that Maurice’s departure was announced by Hurricanes’ general manager Jim Rutherford Monday morning. Rutherford did not mention who will replace Maurice, but the Hurricanes will hold a press conference later today to answer that question.
Rumor has it that Maurice could be replaced by Kirk Muller, former NHL player and head coach of the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL.
So far, the reactions to Maurice’s departure have been a mix of shock and disappointment. One Twitter user tweeted, “Hurricanes have relieved Paul Maurice of his duties in CAR. Maurice is one of the best guys in game. Hope he finds a new challenge soon.”
Maurice was the former head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
