Rockers are back after a six year hiatus
Tenacious D is hitting the road this summer to promote their upcoming album Rize of the Fenix.
Hard rocking comedians Jack Black and Kyle Glass, who form the “mock rock” band Tenacious D, have released a video covering what they have been up to in their six-year hiatus, To Be the Best. The video shows Black and Glass embarking reuniting and embarking on an intense training regimen, shredding on guitars and flying on bald eagles, featuring cameos from Maria Menounos, Val Kilmer, Dave Grohl and Jimmy Kimmel.
What has this intensive training over the past six years produced? “The greatest album recorded by anyone, ever,” says Menounos in the video.
The album was recorded in producer John Kimbrough’s garage and features Dave Grohl on drums, John Konesky on electric guitar and John Spiker on bass, piano and organ supporting Black and Glass.
Rize of the Fenix is Tenacious D’s third album and is available for preorder on iTunes and amazon.com and will be available everywhere March 15. You can listen to the first single and title track, Rize of the Fenix, via soundcloud.
