Donatella Versace’s collection for H & M sold out fast and caused the H&M website to crash.
Shoppers all over the world ran to grab items from Donatella Versace’s collection that premiered at H&M today.
In Dubai and Beijing, H&M stores sold out of the entire collection in under 30 minutes. Dontatella Versace made an appearance at the H&M store in London this morning, wearing a £129.99 pink satin dress and a £199.99 leather trench coat from the collection.
H&M’s website crashed due to the thousands of consumers that tried to log on at the same time. Their twitter announced early this morning, “Followers, we’re sorry about the technical problems in our shop online markets- we’re working hard to solve them!”
In London, extra security was hired to prevent chaos in stores and time the shoppers while they were in the store. However, the same rules were not applied in other locations, like Beijiing, where shoppers that had been waiting for hours were disappointed when the first few shoppers cleaned the collection out of the store.
The real concern was the amount of items from the collection that ended up on Ebay not long after the stores introduced the collection.
About the collection, Donatella Versace said: ‘The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere.’
